Portrait Veronika Baun

My name is Veronika Baun, and I am an artist specializing in oil painting and mixed media—I have been living in Switzerland for many years, and it has become my new home.

Art is my oldest and most faithful companion. For as long as I can remember, it has played a central role in my life. For many years, creating art was a constant flow of creativity that carried me through the ups and downs.

But something has changed recently. It is as if art is now calling to me with a more urgent, powerful voice—a call so clear and irresistible that I have realigned my life accordingly. Driven by this inner impulse, I took the step of pursuing a master’s degree in art alongside my therapeutic practice.

Today, I devote myself wholeheartedly and with all my energy to painting. My deepest desire is to give a soul to the moment, to capture fleeting moments and grant them eternity on the canvas. Portrait painting is particularly close to my heart. In my works, I tell stories that the viewer should not only see, but above all feel. I want people to pause in front of my portraits, feel caught in the moment, and ask themselves: What is this person thinking right now? What moves them? What secret lies behind this gaze?

This curiosity about the hidden, this longing for connection—it is what drives me and guides my artistic hand. Using my vision and technical skills in oil painting and mixed media, I create works that invite a quiet dialogue between the viewer and the portrait—a dialogue that extends far beyond the visible.

My portfolio at veronikabaun.art is the visible result of this dedicated journey—a collection of inspiring artworks that I wish to share with the world. In my blog, I also offer an intimate glimpse into my artistic development and the newfound determination that drives me.

I am currently enrolled in the one-year Mastery Program at the renowned Milan Art Institute—an intensive phase of artistic development that challenges me and, at the same time, deeply fulfills me. This is about more than technique: it is an invitation to refine my technical skills while allowing my authentic visual language to emerge ever more clearly.

What makes this program so meaningful to me is its holistic approach. Under the guidance of experienced mentors and embedded in a global community of passionate artists, I continually rediscover myself and my vision. The exchange, the shared growth, the sharing of doubts and triumphs—all of this nourishes my soul and drives me to surpass myself.

For me, the Milan Art Institute is far more than just an education. It is a space for transformation, where I not only discover my artistic voice but also learn to share it with the world with courage and clarity. My goal is always to create art that moves people, tells stories, and triggers that quiet resonance in the viewer that lingers long after the experience is over.
